Pet-Friendly Rooms: Booking Your Dog’s Stay
To accommodate guests traveling with dogs, Canterbury Inn offers specially designated “Pet Friendly” rooms. When making your reservation, it’s crucial to specifically book one of these rooms to ensure availability for you and your pet. This allows us to prepare for your arrival and guarantee a suitable space for your furry friend.

Upon check-in, we do require a $150.00 pet damage hold. This is a pre-authorization on your credit card intended to cover any potential damages that may occur during your dog’s stay. The daily pet fees will be deducted from this hold, and the remaining amount will be released back to your card, provided there is no damage to the room beyond normal wear and tear. In the unlikely event that damages exceed $150.00, you will be responsible for covering the additional costs.
Understanding Our Pet Fee Policy
We aim to make our pet policy transparent and fair. After your departure and check-out, our Housekeeping team will thoroughly inspect the room. You will be promptly notified if any issues arise. Please note that we no longer conduct pet checks while you wait at check-out to expedite the process for all our guests.

A daily pet fee of $25.00 plus tax per dog applies for your stay. We welcome a maximum of two dogs per pet-friendly room, and we kindly request that each dog weighs under 75lbs. If your dog exceeds this weight, an additional fee may be applied. It’s important to note that the daily pet fee is charged for each night of your reservation, regardless of your dog’s arrival or departure date within that period. For instance, even if your dog joins you on the second day of a five-day stay, the pet fee will apply for all five nights.
It’s also important to understand that emotional support dogs are considered pets and are subject to the same policies and fees. Service dogs, on the other hand, are exempt from pet fees. However, we do expect service animals to be well-behaved and under the control of their handler at all times. Our staff may inquire about the specific service your dog provides to ensure we are correctly applying our policies.
Responsible Pet Ownership During Your Stay
To ensure a pleasant experience for all guests and to maintain the quality of our rooms, we have a few simple guidelines for pet owners:

Never leave your dog unattended in the room. For the safety and comfort of your pet, as well as for other guests, dogs should not be left alone in guest rooms.
As our rooms are located within privately owned condo units, we kindly ask that you utilize the pet blankets we provide (or bring your own) if your dog enjoys relaxing on furniture. This helps protect the furniture and keeps the rooms in excellent condition for all guests.

Upon booking a pet-friendly room with us, you will receive an email outlining our complete pet policies. It is essential that you thoroughly read these policies. At check-in, you will be asked to sign acknowledging your agreement to our terms and conditions. For guests seeking cat-friendly accommodations in Ocean Shores, the Polynesian Resort is the only hotel that currently allows cats. They offer a limited number of cat-friendly rooms, so it is imperative to specify your need for a cat room when booking with them.
