Central Garden & Pet Strengthens Board with Appointment of Randal D. Lewis

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.– Central Garden & Pet Company (NASDAQ: CENT), (NASDAQ: CENTA), a prominent leader in the Central Garden And Pet industries, has announced a significant addition to its leadership team. Effective December 11, 2024, Randal D. Lewis has been appointed to the company’s Board of Directors. This strategic move underscores Central Garden & Pet’s commitment to leveraging deep industry expertise to drive future growth and enhance its market position.

Mr. Lewis brings to Central Garden & Pet over three decades of rich experience in the consumer products sector, with a substantial 17-year tenure at Spectrum Brands Holdings, Inc. (“Spectrum”). His most recent role at Spectrum was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, a position he held until December 2022, where he directly oversaw all operating divisions. Prior to this, Mr. Lewis served as President of Spectrum’s Global Consumer Division, which encompassed their Global Auto Care, Global Pet Care, and Home & Garden business units. His career progression at Spectrum also includes serving as President of the Pet, Home & Garden business units, and earlier roles as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Home & Garden, and Vice President, Home & Garden Manufacturing. Before his time at Spectrum, Mr. Lewis built a strong foundation at United Industries Corporation (now part of Spectrum) from 1997 to 2005, and at Unilever from 1989 to 1997, holding roles with increasing responsibility.

Mr. Lewis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, providing him with a strong analytical and strategic framework that complements his operational expertise in the central garden and pet market.
