Paul Peter Gebo, a resident of New Hill, NC, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at the age of 86. Born on March 6, 1937, in Clinton County, New York, he was the son of Paul Peter Gebo and Della Chartrand Gebo.
A proud US Army Veteran, Paul Peter Gebo was known for his craftsmanship and love for woodworking. He dedicated a significant part of his life to building unfinished furniture, including bookcases, jelly cabinets, and cubes, collaborating with his family to supply unfinished furniture stores across Raleigh, Durham, Richmond Virginia, Marietta Georgia, and Knoxville Tennessee areas. Even after retirement, Peter Gebo’s passion for woodworking continued to flourish. He skillfully crafted birdhouses, cedar church tissue box holders, and jewelry boxes, showcasing his enduring talent and dedication to his craft.
Paul Peter Gebo was predeceased by his parents, his brother Gene Gebo, sister Joan G. Henry, and step-sister Lauren Snyder. He is survived by his loving wife, Anne R. Gebo, of their New Hill home. His legacy continues through his son Charles Gebo (Dana) of Manchester, NY; daughters Renee Drury of Rushville, NY; and Cheri G. Cintron of Woodbridge, VA. He also leaves behind three step-daughters: Lynne L. Mullins (Robert) of West Point, VA; Jennifer Cross, residing at home; and Michelle A. Stanley (Kenneth) of Raleigh, NC. Paul Peter Gebo’s family extended to eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, all of whom will cherish his memory.
A funeral service to honor the life of Paul Peter Gebo will be held at 2 PM on Friday, January 12, 2024, at the Moncure Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Matt Garrett. Following the service, burial will take place at the Moncure Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will welcome friends and loved ones for visitation at the Moncure Baptist Church one hour prior to the service on Friday.
