Meet the Creative Team Behind Maddy’s Theatre’s “Pete the Cat Show”

Merritt Holman – Assistant Stage Manager

Merritt Holman, a promising Junior at Deering High School in Portland, Maine, brings her youthful energy and growing expertise to “Pete the Cat Show” as Assistant Stage Manager. Her journey with CMTM began in childhood, and her return to the Maddys Theatre Team highlights her commitment and development within the theater community. Beyond stage management, Merritt’s creative talents extend to playwriting, showcased in the Youth Playwright Festival. Her extensive experience at CMTM is evident in her previous roles as Assistant Stage Manager and Deck Captain for numerous productions, including Blueberries For Sal, Snow in the Jungle, Three Little Kittens, Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, Jack and Phill Slayer of Giants Inc., and Gruff. Merritt’s meticulous organizational skills and collaborative spirit are essential to the smooth running of “Pete the Cat Show” backstage.

Emily M. Dixon – Production Manager

Emily M. Dixon plays a pivotal role in “Pete the Cat Show” as the Production Manager, overseeing every facet of the production process. Her passion for theater is evident in her diverse contributions, from directing acclaimed shows like Dragons Love Tacos (2022) and Gruff: An Epic Fairytale Eco-Musical (2023) to her memorable performance as Gerald in the 2020 CMTM production of Elephant & Piggie. Emily’s creative pursuits extend beyond the stage; she is also a fiction novelist, finding inspiration in kayaking and gardening with her wife. Her dedication to “Pete the Cat Show” and Maddy’s Theatre is a tribute to Sara, Linda, David, Maddy, and Rusty, whose influence and support are deeply valued. Emily’s comprehensive oversight ensures the seamless coordination of all production elements, contributing significantly to the overall success of “Pete the Cat Show”.

Holly Taylor – Choreography

Holly Taylor’s dynamic choreography is set to bring vibrant movement and energy to “Pete the Cat Show”. Based in Portland, ME, Holly is a respected dance educator, choreographer, and arts administrator. Her diverse movement vocabulary encompasses modern, ballet, gaga, postmodern, site-specific composition, and various contemporary forms. Holly’s academic background includes a B.A. in American Studies from Yale University and an M.A. in Performance Studies from NYU Tisch. Currently, she shares her passion for dance by teaching youth classes at Casco Bay Movers Dance Studio in Portland. Holly’s innovative and engaging choreography promises to enhance the storytelling and entertainment value of “Pete the Cat Show”, making it a visually captivating experience for audiences.

Raynor Pavlov – Costume Design

Raynor Pavlov, an award-winning fashion designer and musician, lends his artistic vision to “Pete the Cat Show” through imaginative costume design. His passion for creating colorful and textural garments for performance artists shines through in his work. A recent graduate with a BFA in Fashion and Textile Design from Maine College of Art & Design (May 2024), Raynor has quickly established himself in the field. His portfolio includes costume work for Maine Opera’s 2024 production of Aida, and he currently serves as the head costumer for Oak Hill Players in Scarborough, ME. Raynor’s dedication to his craft and his ability to create visually stunning costumes will undoubtedly enrich the character portrayals and overall aesthetic of “Pete the Cat Show”. He gratefully acknowledges his partner IZ for their unwavering love and support.

Kat Moraros – Props Design

Kat Moraros, a versatile theater artist, brings her imaginative prop designs to “Pete the Cat Show”. Having previously charmed audiences as Hattie in Go, Dog. Go! (2023) at CMTM, Kat’s creativity extends to prop creation, drawing from a childhood filled with books and imaginative play. Despite being allergic to cats, Kat embraced the challenge of working on “Pete the Cat Show”, happily “rocking out with Pete and his friends” while crafting props. Her unique approach to prop design is sure to add a touch of whimsy and practicality to the stage, enhancing the visual storytelling of “Pete the Cat Show”.

SeifAllah Salotto-Cristobal – Lighting Design

SeifAllah Salotto-Cristobal, a seasoned lighting and digital media designer, illuminates “Pete the Cat Show” with his extensive expertise. With 19 years of experience in Theatre, Opera, Dance, Concerts, and Live Events across the country, SeifAllah brings a wealth of knowledge to the production. His impressive portfolio includes work with Lyric Stage Boston, Portland Stage Company, Ogunquit Playhouse, Opera Maine, and many other prestigious companies. Holding a Master of Fine Arts in Design from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, he is currently an Assistant Professor of Lighting Design at the University of Southern Maine, where he inspires the next generation of theater professionals. As a proud member of United Scenic Artists, Local 829, SeifAllah is committed to equitable industry practices and impactful storytelling. Adam Corriveau – Puppet Design

Adam Corriveau, a Portland-based writer and maker, makes his Maddy’s Theatre debut with “Pete the Cat Show” as the Puppet Designer. His diverse creative talents are showcased in his previous work, including co-writing and puppet designing the short film Tick! (Damnationland 2022), puppet design for Túmacho at Mad Horse Theatre Co., and co-creating the character Grumbo for The Semi-Darkness Place (PortFringe 2024). He also served as assistant director and special effects coordinator for the short film Come Home (Damnationland 2024). Adam’s inventive puppet designs promise to bring a unique and engaging visual element to “Pete the Cat Show”, captivating audiences with his artistry.
