Pete Davidson Stalker Deemed Unfit to Stand Trial, Placed in Psychiatric Care

Michelle Mootreddy, the woman accused of stalking comedian Pete Davidson and breaking into his New York City residence in March 2021, has been declared “unfit to stand trial.” This development means Mootreddy will not face immediate legal proceedings and has been placed in the custody of a psychiatric facility for treatment.

According to a statement released by the Staten Island District Attorney to TMZ on Wednesday, Mootreddy will undergo treatment and regular psychiatric evaluations. These evaluations will determine if she will eventually be deemed fit to participate in her legal defense at a later date. Representatives for Pete Davidson have yet to issue a public statement regarding this latest development in the case.

Mootreddy’s arrest stems from an incident in March 2021 when she allegedly gained unauthorized entry to Davidson’s Staten Island home. Police reports indicate that Mootreddy arrived at the residence and was met at the door by Davidson’s mother, Amy Waters Davidson. Despite being asked to leave, Mootreddy reportedly bypassed the front door rejection by entering the home through a side entrance.

Upon police arrival at Davidson’s home, Mootreddy allegedly claimed to have a “telepathic love connection” with the former “Saturday Night Live” star, who is 29 years old. This incident was not an isolated event, as Mootreddy’s alleged stalking behavior included sending Davidson unwanted gifts and disseminating a fabricated press release falsely announcing their marriage.

Legal representatives for Davidson swiftly refuted the marriage claims at the time, stating unequivocally that they were “completely false” and that Davidson had no connection to Mootreddy. They further indicated that they were exploring all available legal options to address the situation.

As a result of her actions, Mootreddy was charged with multiple offenses, including burglary in the second and third degree, misdemeanor stalking charges, and misdemeanor counts of criminal trespass and harassment. Following her initial arrest and charges, a judge issued a restraining order, mandating that Mootreddy stay away from Pete Davidson and his family. Now, with the court’s ruling of her being unfit to stand trial and placement in a psychiatric facility, the legal process is temporarily halted as she receives necessary mental health treatment. The future of the legal case hinges on the outcome of her treatment and subsequent evaluations of her fitness to stand trial.
