Actress Peta Sergeant, known for her roles in Snowfall and Castle Rock, has been announced as a series regular for the sixth and final season of The CW’s Supergirl. This exciting casting news brings a fresh dynamic to the beloved superhero series as it approaches its conclusion.
Sergeant will portray Nyxly, a character described as a 5th Dimensional Imp with a quirky and kind nature. However, Nyxly’s past is marked by tragedy, leading to her wrongful imprisonment in the Phantom Zone. Her storyline is set to intertwine with Kara’s in unexpected ways. Nyxly will become an ally to Supergirl when she least anticipates it, and their burgeoning friendship is poised to be mutually beneficial. This connection not only promises to aid in healing Nyxly’s emotional wounds but also to assist her in reclaiming her inherent power.
Season 5 of Supergirl left viewers on a cliffhanger, with Brainiac’s fate hanging in the balance after his efforts to contain Leviathan. Season 6 will pick up directly from this point, plunging viewers into immediate action. The official logline teases, “As Brainiac lays close to death after trying to stop Lex (Jon Cryer), Supergirl and team soar in to save him, engaging in an epic battle with Gamenmae (played by guest star Cara Buono). After beating Leviathan, Supergirl turns her attention to Lex who has used the Obsidian platform to brainwash half the world to love him and follow him at all costs, no matter what horrible things he does.” Nyxly’s introduction will add another layer of intrigue to this already complex narrative.
