Unlocking Your First Pet: The Asheara Dog
The first pet available in Diablo 4 is the Asheara Dog, and acquiring it is straightforward. You can unlock this canine companion by completing the simple “Faithful Companion” questline. This quest is available immediately after updating Diablo 4 to the latest version, regardless of your character level.
To start the quest, head to Kyovashad. In the northwest section of the town, you’ll find a “Well Behaved Dog.” Simply interact with this dog to complete the “Faithful Companion” quest and unlock the Pets feature in Diablo 4. This interaction is all it takes to gain your first pet companion, making it accessible to all players right from the start.
Once you have completed this quest, you can access the Pets tab in your Wardrobe to equip the Asheara Dog or any other pets you acquire.
Expanding Your Pet Collection
While the Asheara Dog is currently the only pet obtainable through in-game activities, more pets are available through the upcoming Diablo 4 DLC, Vessel of Hatred. Within the Pets tab in your Wardrobe, you’ll notice slots for additional companions, including Hratli the Canine, Natalya the Tiger, and Alkor the Snow Leopard. These pets are currently locked and indicate future content.
Pre-ordering specific editions of the Vessel of Hatred DLC will grant you immediate access to one of these exclusive pets. The specific pet you unlock depends on the version of the DLC you purchase.
