El Paso has a new haven for animals looking for their forever homes! El Paso Animal Services has officially opened its Westside Adoption Center, offering a spacious and comfortable environment for adoptable pets. This new facility promises to be a game-changer for pet adoption in the region, providing a better experience for both animals and prospective owners. To celebrate this exciting opening, El Paso Pet Shelter is hosting a special “Woofstock Pet Event” packed with fun activities and opportunities to meet your new best friend.
The Woofstock Pet Event, scheduled for Saturday, August 10th, is set to be a memorable day for the community and its furry residents. From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Westside Adoption Center, located at 5625 Confetti Dr., attendees can enjoy free dog adoptions, free pet microchips, and discounted vaccinations for dogs and cats. Adding to the festive atmosphere, the event will feature live music from popular DJs including DJ Mezza, Fargo DJ Izzy R, and Des Cota. Food vendors will be on-site to cater to both human and pet appetites, and a T-shirt tie-dye station, jumping balloons, and pet-themed arts and crafts will provide entertainment for all ages.
This new Westside Adoption Center is a significant upgrade from the temporary downtown location, Tails at the Times, which had been in operation since May 2023. Approximately 100 dogs will now benefit from the improved conditions at the Westside facility as they wait to be adopted. The move to a permanent, purpose-built center underscores El Paso Animal Services’ commitment to enhancing animal care and increasing adoption rates within the community.

Beyond increased accessibility for residents, the facility offers a notably quieter and more comfortable setting for our pets and visitors, substantially enhancing the overall quality of care we are able to provide.”
To further celebrate the opening of the El Paso pet shelter, adoption fees will be waived throughout July as part of the BISSELL Pets’ Empty the Shelters national adoption event. Every pet adopted from El Paso Animal Services is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and registered with the city, ensuring they are ready to become healthy and happy members of your family.
