Concrete Jungle St. Pete: Your Tulum Escape in the City

Concrete Jungle has rapidly become a cornerstone of St. Pete’s vibrant dining and nightlife scene since its debut nearly a year ago. More than just the latest trendy spot, it has solidified its place as a local favorite, drawing crowds with its exceptional food, innovative cocktails, and an electrifying calendar of events hosted in its unique, jungle-themed basement lounge located at 475 Central Avenue.

To celebrate Labor Day Weekend in style, Concrete Jungle St. Pete is set to host one of its most extravagant events yet: The White Party. Taking place on Friday, August 30th, this promises an unforgettable night filled with captivating live performances, chic white attire, enticing drink specials, and non-stop dancing. Guests are encouraged to embrace the theme and dress in white as they enjoy this Patron Tequila-sponsored extravaganza. The evening will showcase a dynamic lineup of entertainers, including mesmerizing fire dancers, rhythmic live drumming, the energetic Phoebe’s Samba Dance Team, and the infectious beats spun by four renowned DJs from Humble House DJs.

The White Party at Concrete Jungle St. Pete kicks off at 9 pm, with a special treat for early attendees: a complimentary welcome drink courtesy of Patron Tequila for guests arriving between 10 pm and midnight. For those seeking an elevated experience, VIP packages are available, each including a complimentary bottle of Patron El Cielo. Concrete Jungle St. Pete: A Tulum-Inspired Lifestyle Destination

The anticipation surrounding the opening of Concrete Jungle St. Pete last fall was palpable, and it’s safe to say it has more than lived up to the hype. Hunger Thirst Group (HTG) breathed new life into this iconic downtown venue, transforming the former Iberian Rooster space at 475 Central Avenue into a Tulum-inspired restaurant and bar. In a city constantly welcoming new concepts, Concrete Jungle has distinguished itself by not only maintaining its popularity but growing it since opening its doors.

While its dynamic nightlife offerings are a significant draw, Concrete Jungle St. Pete also boasts a distinctive and refreshing culinary program. The menu, which can be explored in full here, is available from dinner through late-night drinks and also features a delightful brunch service starting at 10:30 am on Saturdays and Sundays. The ground floor serves as the main restaurant area for seated dining, while the basement bar comes alive later in the evening, offering a vibrant atmosphere for cocktails and music. This dual-level layout enhances the Concrete Jungle experience, providing different vibes to suit various preferences and times of day.

Concrete Jungle St. Pete represents more than just a new restaurant; it’s a revitalization of one of St. Pete’s most cherished bar and restaurant locations. Housed within the historic Kress building, the two-story venue has provided HTG founder Stephen Schrutt with ample space to realize his creative vision. This passion project has resulted in a unique destination that seamlessly blends dining, nightlife, and a Tulum-inspired aesthetic.

The food menu at Concrete Jungle St. Pete emphasizes lighter and healthier options for both lunch and dinner. Guests can savor dishes such as innovative jackfruit flautas, refreshing charred watermelon, and fresh wood-fired catch of the day, among other culinary creations inspired by the flavors of Tulum and the Yucatán Peninsula. The cocktail program is equally thoughtful, divided into two distinct styles. The main floor bar offers an “easy-drinking cocktail list with a fresh and light focus,” perfect for casual enjoyment, while the more intimate downstairs bar specializes in tequila and mezcal-based cocktails, adding a layer of authentic Tulum flair.

“I have always loved this historic building and space since the first time I saw it back in 2012,” shared Schrutt upon the opening of Concrete Jungle St. Pete last fall. “It’s been a long process, but it’s been really cool to be able to bring my vision to life. I think the two levels of the space really help bring the duality of the concept together. It’s a place that people can enjoy no matter the time of day.”

The menu is designed for sharing, featuring a wide array of plates from flavorful ahi tostadas and tender Spanish octopus to crispy Brussels sprouts and savory chicken skewers. The flatbreads are highly recommended, and for entrees, the hanger steak and Oaxacan pappardelle are standouts. While not personally sampled, the hot honey churros are rumored to be the dessert menu’s star attraction, promising a sweet and satisfying end to any meal.

Concrete Jungle is a proud member of the Hunger Thirst Group family, joining other popular St. Pete establishments such as The Avenue, Park & Rec, No Vacancy, Good Fortune, Lost & Found, Dirty Laundry, and the eagerly awaited Summer Camp bar, announced last year.
