The first step in welcoming a charming pet into your home is to complete our online adoption application. We have separate applications tailored for both dogs and cats to help us understand your preferences and living situation better. Step 2: Application Review and Approval at Charming Pet Rescue
Once you’ve submitted your application to Charming Pet Rescue, our dedicated team will carefully review it. We strive to respond to all applications within 72 hours. During this review, we may reach out with further questions to ensure a good fit between you and a potential pet. Patience during this stage is greatly appreciated as we want to give each application the attention it deserves. Step 3: Meeting Your Potential Pet
Upon approval of your application by Charming Pet Rescue, the exciting part begins – meeting your potential new family member! Your contact information will be shared with the foster parent of the pet you are interested in, or with one of our adoption representatives if the animal is housed directly at the rescue. You can expect to be contacted within 48 hours to provide more details about the pet and to arrange a meeting. For those residing outside of Boerne, Texas, where Charming Pet Rescue is based, we offer options to meet pets virtually through videos or video calls. This ensures that distance is not a barrier to finding your charming pet companion.
Step 4: Finalizing Your Adoption and Transport Details
To finalize your adoption with Charming Pet Rescue after you’ve found your perfect match, simply navigate to the pet’s profile on our website and click the “Pay Adoption Fee” button. For those who are not local to Boerne, Texas, and require pet transport, please select “Transport” from the dropdown menu during checkout. Completing the checkout process secures your adoption. For non-local adoptions, Charming Pet Rescue will contact you within a week with all the transport details for your new pet. Step 5: Post-Adoption Policy
Charming Pet Rescue understands that sometimes circumstances change. Once the adoption fee is paid and the adoption is finalized, adopters have a 7-day period to change their mind. During this period, a refund of the adoption fee is available, minus a $50 processing fee. After this 7-day window, if for any reason you need to return the pet, the full adoption fee is considered a donation to Charming Pet Rescue, supporting our ongoing efforts to rescue and rehome more animals.
Understanding Charming Pet Rescue Adoption Fees
Charming Pet Rescue is committed to the health and well-being of all our animals. Our adoption fees help us cover the costs of essential veterinary care. Every pet adopted from us is spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated (including rabies), heartworm tested (for dogs over a year old), and dogs are microchipped.
Dog Adoption Fees:

Important Adoption Policies at Charming Pet Rescue
Charming Pet Rescue has established several adoption policies to ensure the welfare of our pets and the suitability of their new homes:
- All current pets in the adopter’s home must be spayed/neutered.
- All current pets must be up-to-date on their required vaccinations.
- We do not adopt to individuals under 22 years of age.
- We generally do not adopt large breed puppies to apartment living situations or families with young children due to the challenges often associated with these placements. Exceptions may be considered for those with breed experience and a solid training and exercise plan.
- If an adopted pet is returned, a $50 portion of the adoption fee is non-refundable. However, returns within the first 7 days are eligible for a refund of the remainder of the fee.
