Kate’s expertise shines particularly with doodles. She has cultivated a large and loyal clientele of doodle owners, proficiently grooming all doodle breeds, sizes, shapes, and coat types. Beyond standard grooming, Kate harbors a special passion for creative grooming. While she often showcases her artistic talents on her own dogs, she is eager to bring creative styles to client dogs who are the right fit. Keep an eye out – if you spot a colorfully styled dog around our salon, it’s likely one of Kate’s canine canvases!
Kate’s skills extend beyond just dogs. At A Dog’s Life Pet Salon & Boutique, she is also our resident bird groomer, providing expert care for feathered friends. She even has experience grooming guinea pigs, offering spa days to these small pets as well. This diverse skillset makes A Dog’s Life Pet Salon & Boutique a truly unique destination for all your pet grooming needs.
Her love for animals is evident in her personal life as well. Kate is a proud owner of two Great Danes, a Standard Poodle, a Hairless Chinese Crested, and a charming mystery mix – a Shih Tzu/Poodle – affectionately named Munchkin, who found her forever home with Kate after needing grooming and care. Adding to her animal family are 12 birds and a horse, demonstrating her lifelong commitment to animal well-being.
Before joining the team at A Dog’s Life Pet Salon & Boutique, Kate honed her animal expertise working at an exotic bird store for over three years, explaining her proficiency in bird grooming. She also spent time working on a horse farm while attending grooming school, further broadening her animal handling skills. Outside of her professional grooming career at A Dog’s Life Pet Salon & Boutique, Kate actively participates in various canine sports with her dogs, including K9 agility, K9 water sports, dog parkour, and flyball. If that wasn’t enough, she also creates beautiful pet portraits in her spare time, solidifying that animals are truly her life’s passion.
