As part of the Healthy Pets Initiative, Spike’s Pet Food Pantry (SPP) is dedicated to ensuring that no pet in Berks or Lancaster County goes without essential pet supplies. We understand that providing for your beloved animals is crucial, and we are here to support residents facing financial hardship so they don’t have to make the difficult choice of surrendering their pets due to lack of food. Spike’s Pet Food Pantry offers vital pet supplies to enrolled residents of Berks and Lancaster Counties – if you are struggling to feed your pet, we are ready to assist you.

Spike’s Pet Food Pantry operates convenient locations within Humane Pennsylvania’s Community Resource Center and the Lancaster Adoption Center for Cats & Critters, making it easier than ever to access necessary pet supplies.

How to Access Pet Supplies: Enrollment

Enrolling in Spike’s Pet Food Pantry is a simple process designed to quickly provide you with the pet supplies you need.

  • Begin by reviewing the program details available in the Spike’s Pet Food Pantry Info Sheet. This document outlines important information about the pantry and the pet supplies offered.
  • To expedite your first visit, you can print and fill out the Enrollment Form in advance, or you can complete one on-site at the pantry.
  • When you visit either pantry location during the hours listed below, please bring a photo ID and arrive at least 30 minutes before closing.
  • Upon enrollment, you will receive a membership card, allowing you to immediately select pet supplies such as food, litter, and other essential items for your pet.

In addition to regular operations, Berks CART disaster response is active in mobilizing emergency pet supplies. Through this initiative, we have successfully distributed over 485,000 pounds of pet supplies to human food pantries, animal shelters, and rescue organizations across Pennsylvania, including Berks, Lancaster, and neighboring counties.

Locations to Pick Up Pet Supplies

For Berks County Residents

Berks County residents can access pet supplies at the Spike’s Pet Pantry located within the Humane Pennsylvania Community Resource Center (CRC) at 1350 Schuylkill Avenue, Reading, PA 19601.

  • Monday: 1 PM – 5 PM
  • Tuesday: 12:30 PM – 6 PM
  • Thursday: 12:30 PM – 6 PM

For Lancaster County Residents

Lancaster County residents can find pet supplies at the Spike’s Pet Pantry in the Humane Pennsylvania Lancaster Adoption Center for Cats & Critters, situated at 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602.

Enrollment and pet supply pick-up are available during our standard business hours, seven days a week, from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Support Our Mission: Donate Pet Supplies

Spike’s Pet Food Pantry relies on the generosity of the community and is always grateful to receive donations of unopened pet food and gently used pet supplies.

Donations can be dropped off at any Humane Pennsylvania location or conveniently ordered online and shipped directly to:
